The Cyclones are Charging!

Even though Duke remains comfortably atop the rankings of the best combined men’s and women’s programs in the nation, Iowa State is making a run.

Tennessee, longtime second place team in the rankings, have suffered mightily from the road woes of their men’s team. While the recent success of Notre Dame and Iowa State’s men’s teams have lifted them up in the rankings.

Also, this is the first time since we started this poll that UConn has dropped out. The lack of any votes at all for the UConn men’s team is to blame.

There are just 14 schools where both teams are getting votes in the AP polls. Only 8 have teams that are both ranked in the top 25. Duke and Iowa State are the only schools with men’s and women’s teams in the top 10.

Here are the rankings, based upon votes in the AP men's poll and votes in the AP women's poll (multiplied by 1.75 to factor for fewer voters in the women's poll):
